Fahrstuhl im Lentos-Museum in Linz

I saw this sign in the elevator of the Lentos museum in Linz (Austria) where I was visiting a friend two weeks ago. It was raining all the four days I was there so my sightseeing plans fell through. The sentence "Im fallenden Fahrstuhl herrscht keine Schwere" means something like "There is no gravity in the falling elevator". I found this quite a strange declaration. What does it mean? Why is it there? It doesn't really help if the elevator is broken and falls down. Is it an art work? The Lentos is a museum for modern art. I'm not sure I want to know. As it is I keep wondering. If I knew it's art I would just put it aside. But maybe it's a strange Austrian warning. But against what? They are different in Austria (I say that as a German and I like the difference very much).
